Yacht microsites

For yacht sales listings and campaigns

Why does a yachtneed its ownwebsite?

A yacht microsite gives one sales listing a controlled digital path of its own. Instead of sending a buyer back into a brokerage inventory page or portal with competing yachts, it keeps the photography, video, specifications, GA, documents and named broker enquiry around one yacht and one decision.

It does not replace YachtWorld, the brokerage website or the broker. It gives the traffic those channels generate somewhere better to land.

One yacht / One URL / One broker path

01 / The economics

Why not just usethe brokerage listing?

A brokerage listing is designed to hold inventory. A yacht microsite is designed to concentrate attention on one yacht.

The seller may already have paid for photography, film, brochure production, travel, yacht-show presence and brokerage marketing. Sending an interested buyer from a WhatsApp message, email or QR code back into a page where competing listings are one click away wastes some of that attention.

A microsite does not promise a higher price. It reduces distraction, makes the sales material easier to reach and gives campaign traffic a destination the broker controls.

02 / Fit and honesty

When a yacht micrositemakes sense.

  • 01A central agency listing with strong photography and video already produced.
  • 02A yacht being actively pushed through broker messages, WhatsApp and email.
  • 03A yacht shown at Monaco, FLIBS or another campaign period where QR and show-specific links are useful.
  • 04A yacht with a meaningful GA, refit story, technical dossier or document set that is poorly served by a standard inventory template.
  • 05A listing where price, location, broker details or campaign messaging may change during the sales period.
  • 06A yacht that needs a more controlled presentation than a public portal provides.

When itdoes not.

If the yacht has weak material, no active marketing plan, no reason for buyers to receive a dedicated link, or the brokerage listing already does the job well, another website may not be worth paying for. The microsite only makes economic sense when it has a distribution role.

03 / Definition

What is ayacht microsite?

A yacht microsite is a standalone website or dedicated web address built around one yacht rather than a brokerage’s full inventory. It typically combines the yacht story, photography, video, specifications, GA, brochure or documents, broker details and enquiry path in one mobile-first presentation.

Not a brokerage inventory page
An inventory page exists to compare and hold many yachts. A microsite exists to present one.
Not a PDF brochure
A brochure is a fixed document. A microsite can carry video, updates, tracking and a live enquiry path.
Not only a campaign landing page
A landing page can be deliberately short. A microsite can run as a full digital sales dossier.
Yachts moored along the quay of a Vieux Port at first light
A yacht sales campaign runs across messages, shows and screens. The microsite is where it lands.

04 / FAQ

Questions brokersactually ask.

01

Why does a yacht need a microsite if it is already on YachtWorld or the brokerage website?

It does not need one simply to exist online. It needs one when the marketing is generating direct traffic around a specific yacht. Portals and brokerage sites are good at inventory. A microsite is useful when a broker wants one link that keeps the buyer focused on one yacht, its material and the named enquiry path without sending them straight back to competing listings.

02

Does a yacht microsite replace the brokerage website?

No. The brokerage website remains the company's main digital property and inventory hub. The microsite is a campaign asset for one yacht and can link back to the brokerage where appropriate.

03

Why not just send the PDF brochure?

A brochure is useful as a document, but it is static, awkward on many phones and cannot carry video, live updates, campaign source tracking or a direct enquiry path as naturally as a website. The microsite can still make the brochure available in one click.

04

How do buyers actually reach a yacht microsite?

Usually through distribution, not by typing the address from memory. Typical entry points are a broker's WhatsApp message, email, QR code, social post, campaign link, yacht-show follow-up or a link from the brokerage website.

05

Can we use our existing photography, video, brochure and GA?

Yes. A microsite is normally built around approved sales material the brokerage or owner already has. The point is to give that material a better digital structure, not to force a new content production project.

06

Can the asking price, location or broker details be updated during the listing period?

Yes. Listing-period updates are part of the service scope when agreed. A digital page should be easier to update than a printed brochure or circulated PDF.

07

Can documents be kept private?

A private document entry point can be added when the client setup requires it. The exact access method and level of protection depend on the project and should be agreed before launch.

08

Can traffic from QR codes or yacht shows be tracked?

Campaign-specific URLs and UTM parameters can be used to distinguish sources such as a QR code, show campaign or broker outreach. The exact analytics setup depends on the client's tracking configuration.

09

What happens to the microsite after the yacht sells?

It does not need to remain as a live sales page forever. Depending on the agreement, it can be unpublished, redirected, archived or changed to a sold status. The preferred option depends on the brokerage, domain and campaign strategy.

10

Is a microsite useful for an off-market yacht?

It can be, particularly when presentation needs to be controlled and material is shared selectively. If private access is required, that should be designed into the project rather than implied by a public page.

11

How quickly can a yacht microsite go live?

Timing depends mainly on how complete the approved photography, yacht data, GA, brochure, video, broker details and feedback process are. A clean asset package moves quickly. A project still waiting for sales material or approvals moves at the speed of those approvals.

12

Who should pay for the microsite?

Depending on the listing agreement, the cost may sit with the brokerage, the owner's marketing budget or another representative. The more important question is whether the listing has enough active distribution and quality material for the microsite to earn its place in the campaign.

13

Is a yacht microsite just a prettier landing page?

No. A campaign landing page may be intentionally short. A yacht microsite can function as a complete digital sales dossier with media, specifications, GA, documents and broker contact, while still keeping the journey focused around one yacht.

14

Why should we use a specialist instead of our normal web agency?

YachtAddress combines 15 years of web-design experience with current yacht-advisory work. The value is not simply knowing what a yacht looks like. It is understanding both the digital product and how yacht listings are actually distributed, updated, discussed and acted on.
